How to live a happy life
We all want to live a happy life, don’t we? A life where we do the things we love, spend time with the people who matter to us and maybe even help make this big world a better place.
I know I want that. Living a happy life is not new, though what that exactly means can be confusing.

4 major reasons why most people are unhappy
Lack of Purpose
People without purpose are unhappy. They feel like they’re just floating through their lives, not going anywhere. They often feel meaningless and empty, so they’re unhappy.
Lack of Control
People who have no control over their lives are unhappy as well. They feel like outside forces, or other people are controlling them and that they have no say in what happens to them.
Not Living In The Present Moment
People who live in the past—worrying about the past or regretting things that happened—are also unhappy because they’re not living in the present moment and enjoying what’s happening in their lives or with their loved ones.
Fear Of Failure And Success
People who don’t believe they can succeed at something or who are afraid of failure will often be less happy than people who believe they can do anything they set their minds to and aren’t afraid of failing when trying something new or challenging themselves (because it means they’ll grow as human beings).
Tips to living a happy life
The truth is that happiness is something you have to work on every day, and it’s not always easy. But if you follow these seven tips, you can live a happier life:
Be grateful for what you have.
When we’re grateful for the things in our lives, it makes us feel good about ourselves and appreciate everything that comes our way. Gratitude helps us focus on the positive things in life instead of dwelling on the negative aspects of our lives.
Spend time with people who make you happy.
Surround yourself with people who make you laugh, lift your spirits when things aren’t going well, and inspire you to be a better person. They will help improve your moods even when times are tough!
Exercise regularly.
Exercise releases endorphins into your bloodstream, making you feel good about yourself and boosting your energy levels so that everything else seems easier! Try joining a gym or doing yoga at home if you don’t have time.
Have a purpose
You have to have a purpose in life and know why you are here. You have to know your destiny and what you have come here to do so that you will not get lost in this world.
Stop comparing yourself to others.
When you compare yourself to others, you’re setting yourself up for failure. You’ll never be able to match up to their accomplishments or beauty or wealth — so why even try? It’s a waste of energy and will only make you miserable. Instead, focus on your own life and how much progress you’ve made toward getting closer to where you want to be.
Get enough sleep
Sleep deprivation has been linked to depression, heart disease, and diabetes — not exactly happy thoughts! Try going to bed simultaneously each night and waking up at the same time each morning so your body can get into a routine. It will help with sleep quality and make your whole day more productive!
Do something every day that makes you happy.
Even if it’s just 10 minutes, do something every day that brings you joy — whether exercising or reading an article about something funny in town today or watching your favorite TV show. These activities release dopamine into your brain, which helps make you feel happier and more optimistic overall.
Activities that can make you happy
You are laughing at yourself.
You may have heard that laughing at yourself is the best medicine, but it’s true! Laughter helps release stress hormones and boosts the immune system. Find something funny in your life and laugh about it. You’ll feel so much better!
Cooking
Cooking is a great way to bring joy into your life. It can be as simple as making a meal for yourself, a loved one or more elaborate like throwing a dinner party.
Cooking produces delicious food, but it also allows you to spend time with others and connect with them. If you’re feeling stressed out or burnt out, then cooking can help you relieve some of those negative emotions by allowing you to focus on something other than your problems.
Going on adventures
Going on adventures is another way to bring joy into your life! Adventures can be anything from hiking trails to traveling abroad! When you go on an adventure, it forces you to leave behind the comfort of your home and explore new places that are unfamiliar and foreign. This allows you to learn about yourself and get out of your comfort zone to grow as a person!
Listening to music
Listening to music is one of my favorite activities because it brings me so much joy! Since ancient times, music has been around, and it shows no signs of disappearing anytime soon!
And I don’t personally think anyone can live a happy life without music.
Making art
This can be anything from writing songs to painting to making a video game level. When you’re creating something new, you’re discovering new things about yourself and your world and making you live a happy life. That’s a powerful feeling.
Learning something new
Whether reading a book, taking up surfing, or learning how to make bake, learning new things is satisfying and rewarding.
It also helps you grow as a person by expanding your knowledge base and improving your skill set, making you more interesting and appealing to other people.
Traveling
Travelling opens up whole new worlds for us — literally! Travel can provide happiness, even if it’s just going out for dinner at an ethnic restaurant in town or traveling abroad for a weekend trip with friends or family members. This is a happy way to live your life.
Hugging
Hugging is one of the best ways to connect with someone else and make them feel loved and appreciated — especially if they’re feeling down or stressed out. It releases endorphins in both parties involved, which makes everyone feel good!
Playing with animals
Pets are great stress relievers and make excellent companions when you’re feeling lonely or bored — so why not play with them? It’s a fun way to spend life together, plus it makes you live happily!
