Gunmen Attack Ebonyi Communities and Killed Three people
In an attack on two communities in Ebonyi State on Monday, gunmen killed three people. They have also destroyed other properties in the area estimated to be worth millions of Naira.

The village believed the attackers were from the nearby Agila in the Ado local government area of Benue state. This is according to an anonymous informant.
The anonymous informant recalled that there had been a protracted boundary dispute between the village and the Agila tribe.
There were numerous gunmen who were firing erratically. A helter-skelter of people ran.
There have now been verified deaths, while others remain unaccounted for. These shooters are also allegedly responsible for several abductions.
He stated, “I can’t confirm any figures at this time, but we will be able to before the end of today.”
It was impossible to reach Chris Anyanwu, the spokesperson, or Gara Aliyu, the state’s commissioner of police, for comment.
The gunmen attack in Ebonyi communities has been verified in a statement by Omekannaya Odah, the chairman of the Ohaukwu local government area and three people were killed.
In a statement released early on Tuesday, Odah said, “Ohaukwu Local Government Council has received reports of security breaches and attacks on innocent residents of Ojiogu and Okpochiri Ukwagba Ngbo on Monday, June 27, 2022, with alarm.
However, Chris Anyanwu, a spokesman for the State Police Command, confirmed the situation to reporters.
Anyanwu said that the leadership was aware of the situation when he spoke on Tuesday in Abakaliki.
The Council strongly denounced the tragedy and assured everyone that it will turn no stone in its investigation of the true circumstances surrounding the unjustified attack that resulted in the loss of life and property.
Also, Council has coordinated with appropriate security personnel to quickly move into the tense region while working assiduously with the necessary stakeholders with a view to ensuring a swift return of peace and normalcy to Ukwagba.
