Popular Gospel Musician, Osinachi to be buried on the 25th of June
Osinachi will be buried on the 25th of June. The popular Nigerian Musician Osinachi who is popularly known for the song “Ekwueme” was confirmed dead on the 8th of April. According to a funeral banner released by the musician’s family, Osinachi will be buried in Abia State on June 25th.
The death
Osinachi died on the 8th of April and initially stated the cause of death by her husband was lung cancer. However, after family and friends revealed that she had been abused by her husband, Peter has been named as the main suspect in the investigation into her possible murder. Children, relatives, and coworkers of the late singer said that she frequently experienced physical abuse by her husband.
The Federal Government has filed a 23-count complaint against Mr Nwachukwu, the late famous gospel singer Osinachi’s husband, who is accused of killing her following a protracted assault. In the allegation made by the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, the Federal Government stated that Osinachi was forcibly removed from her marital house by her husband, in violation of the Violence Against Persons Act, 2015.
The defendant, Nwachukwu, was also accused of pushing his late wife out of a speeding vehicle with force.
The Head, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, Department of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, Ministry of Justice, Mrs Yewande Gbola-Awopetun, filed the charge, with the case number CR/199/2022, at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
FG claimed that by restricting the deceased’s movement and keeping her up in the residence, the defendant violated her right to personal liberty.
Despite all charges, Peter Nwachukwu keeps claiming that Osinachi died of lung cancer and was not brutally murdered.
Nonetheless, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court have placed Nwachukwu in Kuje Correctional Facility.
The obituary states that a night of worship would take place in Abuja on June 23 and a night of prayer will take place in Isochi, in the Abia state on the 24th of June. However, On Saturday, June 25th, she will be buried in her father’s yard.
