Manchester United youngster, Mason Greenwood has been accused of physical and sexual abuse by his ex-girlfriend.

Manchester United has had a difficult season thus far, with little going their way both on and off the field. Following the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ralf Rangnick took over as manager. He has so far also failed to turn the club’s fortunes around.

There have been stories of players being dissatisfied with his methods. This made supporters concerned about what was going on behind the scenes.

In the midst of it all, Mason Greenwood, one of the club’s most talented young players, has become embroiled in a big feud. Harriet Robson (Instagram @hasrobson), who is believed to be his ex-girlfriend, has accused him of domestic violence and sexual assault.

What happened exactly?

Harriet Robson, a social media influencer, published disturbing photographs and videos of bleeding lips and bruises all over her body on her Instagram story. Robson can be seen on video footage with blood seeping from her lips.

The video’s description read, “To everyone who wants to know what Mason Greenwood does to me.”

Robson, who released images of injuries allegedly inflicted by the Manchester United striker, has accused him of domestic abuse and sexual assault. Robson also supplied voice recordings of the 20-year-old English international allegedly assaulting a woman.

However,  the footballer has yet to provide his side of the tale, and none of the claims levelled against him has yet been substantiated.

Nevertheless, given the gravity of the alleged crime, a full-fledged inquiry is likely to be launched for clarity.

What is Manchester United saying?

Manchester United has also issued an official statement stressing that they do not condone violence of any type, but that they will only comment more once the facts are known.

“We are aware of the photographs and allegations circulating on social media,” they stated. We will not make any additional statements until the facts are known. Manchester United does not tolerate any form of violence.”
